To all IOM skippers,
Bob Iles has decided to resign as our IOM Class Captain with immediate effect. Bob considers that after 2 years as CC he has taken IOM racing as far as he can and it is time for someone else to take up the position and lead the fleet. When I stood down as CC in 2016 there were no takers for the position, however, despite being a relative new member Bob willingly offered to assume responsibility. Since then Bob has worked tirelessly to promote the Class and ensure our programme of IOM racing (propably the most prolific of any club in the UK) was maintained. This involved long journeys in all weathers to set courses, move buoys and genearally keep the racing going, despite weed, sometimes lack of numbers and all the other issues any CC has to deal with.
We owe Bob a collective debt of gratitude and a thank you for his work over the last 2 years. On a personal note it has been good to see the quality of IOM racing at all PRYC sailing lakes develop to a high standard - qualities I am keen to see maintained!
Your Commitee will need to consider the way forward.
Andy Cherrett - Vice Commodore

Well said Andy. Bob always had sailing at the forefront of his mind .Thanks Bob, I hope your successor remembers we are there to sail competively & although for enjoyment, we are racing as with the “real” Sport.
